Galway City Museum

Proposals for the Galway City Museum expansion and enhancement project have been submitted to Galway City Council for planning permission.  The project involves the refurbishment of Comerford House, a protected structure, which adjoins the Spanish Arch and historic city walls, both of which form part of a national monument.  A new museum building is to be carefully positioned over a site of archaeological importance adjacent to Comerford House, to provide contemporary exhibition spaces for the Museum.
