Office site visits

HHC traded desks for hard hats to visit two of our live projects at Borris-in-Ossory Courthouse, and the Garda Divisional Headquarters in Portlaoise, both in Co. Laois.

At an early stage in Borris-in-Ossory, this was a great opportunity to see advanced opening up works in the historic courthouse structure, as well as substructure works for the new multi-purpose extension. Our vision to breathe new life into this civic landmark at the edge Borris-in-Ossory creates a dual-functioning building providing private office spaces, and publicly accessible gathering spaces for meetings and events. Outside, a series of curated spaces - from the refreshed street front and new terrace to the revitalised western forecourt and enclosed courtyard - wrap around the site, serving both the historic courthouse and its contemporary glazed extension.

Big thank you to Higgins Builders for facilitating our visit.

HHC is currently supporting the Office of Public Works team in the refurbishment of the early nineteenth-century nine-bay, two-storey former military barracks, entrance guard houses, and enclosing external barracks walls and entrance arch - part of a wider, major new Garda Divisional Headquarters in Portlaoise by the Office of Public Works.

Thank you to the Duggan's Brothers team on site for hosting us on the day.
